Position Summary

The Laboratory for Interface Science of Printable Electronic Materials is seeking a Research Scientist II to explore printable semiconductor materials for energy conversion, storage, and biomaterials applications. The focus will be on materials such as metal halide perovskites, organic semiconductors, and metal oxides, emphasizing the chemistry and electronic structure at the nanoscale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement protocols for spectroscopic and electrochemical characterization of materials.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of students and researchers.
  • Oversee laboratory operations, including imaging and fabrication equipment.
  • Mentor graduate students in research methodologies.
  • Conduct routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Prepare research papers, project reports, and technical presentations.
Required Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field, with three years of relevant experience, or
  • A Master's degree in the aforementioned fields with five years of experience post-Bachelor's degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess experience in:

  • Materials electrochemistry and processing.
  • Structural characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction and spectroelectrochemistry.
  • Metal halide perovskite electrochemistry and defect analysis.
  • Collaborative work in interdisciplinary settings.
  • Strong analytical skills and self-motivation.
