About the School of Physics

The School of Physics at Georgia Tech comprises 50 faculty members and offers a graduate program ranked among the top in the nation. Position Summary

The School of Physics at Georgia Tech is seeking applications for a Research Scientist I position. Under the guidance of Prof. Daniel Goldman, the selected candidate will engage in laboratory and field studies focused on locomotion across various robophysical and robotic platforms. Responsibilities include developing models of complex terrains for testing and utilizing insights gained to inform the design of robotic vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct laboratory and field studies on locomotion in diverse robotic platforms.
  2. Develop models simulating complex terrains for testing purposes.
  3. Apply findings to enhance the design of legged and wheeled robotic vehicles.
  4. Assist the Principal Investigator with journal submissions and grant applications.
Qualifications

Applicants should possess at least a bachelor's degree and demonstrate professional-level performance in research.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Excellent communication and networking abilities.
  2. Experience collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  3. Research expertise in robophysics or legged locomotion.
  4. Ph.D. in a relevant field.
