Job Summary

The County of San Bernardino, CA is seeking a highly skilled Sheriff's Communications Dispatcher I to join our team. As a key member of our public safety team, you will be responsible for receiving and evaluating incoming emergency calls, routine calls for service, and entering calls into a Computer Aided Dispatch system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and evaluate incoming emergency calls, routine calls for service, and enter calls into a Computer Aided Dispatch system.
  • Work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, including mandatory overtime.
  • Provide excellent customer service to the public, responding to calls and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services personnel to ensure effective communication and response to emergency situations.
  • Meet the minimum requirements for the position, including a California P.O.S.T. Public Safety Dispatcher Basic Certificate and six months of emergency call intake or dispatching experience with a law enforcement or fire agency.
