Introduction:

The initial pay rate is $19.13 per hour, with potential for additional compensation based on experience.

About The Role:
As an Aquatic Center Supervisor, you will support the Assistant Pool Managers in overseeing and managing the city's swimming pool facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety and satisfaction of patrons while fostering community engagement through various aquatic programs and activities. Supervisors are expected to work flexible hours, typically between 5:00 a.m. and 9:30 p.m., including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee staff assignments and monitor performance.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of facilities, including daily upkeep tasks such as vacuuming and equipment repairs.
  • Fulfill the roles of Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, and Cashier as required.
  • Engage in ongoing training and staff meetings.
  • Conduct rescues and provide First Aid, CPR, and artificial respiration when necessary.

  • Applicants must be at least 15 years old at the time of hire.
  • Part-time roles offer limited benefits as mandated by law.

  • Certification in lifeguarding is required, with the City providing the necessary training.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • No formal education is required.
  • Experience equivalent to one season (3-6 months) in an aquatic environment as a Lifeguard or Certified Swim Instructor is preferred.
  • Must be at least 15 years old at the time of hire.
Licensing and Other Requirements:
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, including First Aid/CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, or equivalent certifications are mandatory at the time of hire.
  • Proof of current certifications or enrollment in required classes must be provided during the interview.
  • All employees must reside in Arizona during their employment.
Work Environment:
  • Work is primarily conducted in a swimming pool setting, fitness center, or outdoor park.
  • Physical demands include climbing ladders, maintaining vigilance while seated for extended periods, and lifting weights exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions such as sun, dust, and pool chemicals is expected.
