The Hilton Hotel Event & Conference Center is in search of a dedicated Banquet Captain to enhance our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates the training of banquet personnel on the correct setup, serving, and cleanup protocols.
- Conducts pre-event meetings with banquet staff to discuss specific requirements for each event, including service methods, arrangements, menus, sequence of service, and any special requests.
- May assist in the scheduling and delegation of tasks to banquet staff.
- Ensures all setup and closing responsibilities are fulfilled as assigned; performs setup and closing tasks as necessary.
- Coordinates the timing of each course to align with the guests' dining pace; fulfills all Banquet Server duties as required.
- Prepares for events by organizing and assembling necessary equipment.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands necessary for an associate to successfully execute the essential functions of this position are outlined below. Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.
- Must be able to remain stationary for up to 8 hours consecutively.
- May need to position themselves at various stations.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Effective communication skills are essential.
Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of proper service etiquette and standards.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Capacity to follow directions.
- Professional communication abilities.
- Ability to maintain composure and efficiency under pressure.
- Self-motivated, organized, and adept at problem-solving.
- Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills, along with specialized knowledge of bartending and drink mixing.
- Previous banquet experience is preferred.
- TIPS Certification is a plus.
- Professional appearance is expected.
- Familiarity with Meeting Room Setups.
