Position Overview:
The Automotive Service Center Supervisor is responsible for managing all facets of the store's operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, effective staff management, and overall profitability.
This position demands strong leadership capabilities, a solid understanding of automotive services, and business insight to drive the store's success while maintaining high customer satisfaction levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement:
Deliver outstanding customer service by welcoming clients, addressing their questions, and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
Ensure customers receive precise repair estimates, clear service explanations, and timely updates on their vehicle's status.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to foster repeat business and referrals.
Team Leadership:
Recruit, train, and oversee automotive technicians, service advisors, and support personnel.
Establish performance standards and provide ongoing feedback to ensure high productivity and customer satisfaction.
Create a positive workplace culture that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Administer disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with company policies.
Submit all necessary documentation related to hiring, status changes, and disciplinary actions to HR.
Ensure compliance with Personal Purchase protocols among staff.
Operational Oversight:
Manage daily operations, including scheduling, inventory control, and facility upkeep, to promote efficient workflows and adherence to company standards.
Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify improvement opportunities and implement necessary corrective measures.
Establish policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
Oversee parts ordering, inventory tracking, and supply management.
Handle customer parts orders and payments, providing financing options when necessary.
Sales and Marketing Initiatives:
Formulate and execute sales strategies to enhance revenue growth and meet sales objectives.
Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional services based on customer vehicle needs and maintenance history.
Coordinate marketing efforts to attract new clients and retain existing ones.
Financial Management:
Develop and oversee the store's budget, including revenue projections, expense management, and profit margins.
Monitor financial performance and analyze variances to pinpoint areas of concern, implementing cost-saving or revenue-enhancing strategies as needed.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Manage financial goals within the Repair Writer Management System and maintain profit margins.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and/or training is preferred.
ASE Certification in Service:
Automobile Service Consultant certification is required.
Prior experience in a similar role within the automotive service sector.
A valid Driver's License with a clean driving record is mandatory.
Ability to read and comprehend various documents, including safety guidelines and operational manuals.
Strong verbal communication skills for effective interaction with customers and employees.
Ability to perform calculations related to discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
Capability to address practical challenges and manage diverse factors in situations with minimal standardization.
Proficiency in understanding a variety of instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled formats.
Essential computer skills for tasks such as entering customer and vehicle information, accessing parts pricing, placing orders, and managing inventory records.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
Work Environment:
Employees may encounter moving mechanical components and airborne particles or fumes regularly. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions is frequent, and there may be occasional exposure to toxic or caustic substances and electrical hazards. Appropriate PPE safety equipment, including eye and ear protection, is required.
