The Slope Operations Support Specialist plays a vital role in the daily functions of the Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre. This position is centered around delivering outstanding customer service, ensuring the cleanliness of facilities, and upholding safety protocols for all guests and participants.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety of customers and maintain high standards of cleanliness and operational efficiency at the Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre during open hours.
  • Assist in the enforcement of risk management policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with institutional guidelines.
  • Manage lift operations, verify passes, secure waivers, assist with tubing activities, and allocate rental equipment to patrons.
  • Effectively relay any concerns or customer feedback to the Snowflex Manager on duty.
  • Maintain organized and clean outdoor facilities by restocking supplies and ensuring restrooms and public areas are tidy.
  • Support the upkeep of rental equipment and the Snowflex Centre through regular cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Participate in events and operational activities during evenings, weekends, or other designated hours.
  • Attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings organized by Campus Recreation.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Assistant Director of Slope Operations to support Campus Recreation initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team member, embodying and promoting the mission of Liberty University.
SUPERVISORY ROLE
  • This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be a current student at Liberty University.
  • Current certification in CPR/AED and First Aid.
  • Availability to work up to 18 hours per week.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and late nights.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a customer service role.
  • Background in the skiing and snowboarding industry.
  • Aspirations to pursue a career in recreation management.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
  • Proficiency in English to articulate messages clearly and professionally.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
Problem Solving
  • Capable of analyzing situations and applying sound judgment to resolve routine and complex issues.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods as required by various tasks.
  • Regularly required to communicate verbally and listen actively.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate stairs throughout the facility.
  • Ability to handle materials and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment may vary based on operational needs, with potential assignments in outdoor settings subject to varying weather conditions, as well as indoor climate-controlled areas.
