Job Overview
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating design specifications, operational documents, process protocols, testing procedures, procurement paperwork, quality manuals, and inspection reports to ensure alignment with division and client quality standards.
- Assisting in the contract evaluation process and interpreting specifications such as AS9100C, ISO9001:2008, ASQR-01, along with other customer, material, or process specifications.
- Monitoring supplier performance, conducting Root Cause and Corrective Action analyses using methodologies like 8D and 5 Whys, and leading/supporting Quality Clinic initiatives.
- Engaging with clients to resolve quality concerns and aiding the Purchasing team in material procurement, special processes, and approved supplier criteria.
- Working alongside the Customer Service Department to address client issues and respond to Corrective Action Requests (CAR) with effective process enhancements.
- Conducting internal audits, preferably with experience in AS9100 internal audits, and providing quality support to the Engineering team during New Product Introduction (NPI) and analysis of nonconforming components.
- Generating and analyzing quality metrics, reviewing trends, and implementing process improvements to mitigate risks.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and communicating quality expectations to suppliers to prevent nonconforming products.
- Maintaining quality documentation to ensure compliance with regulations and implementing new inspection technologies, such as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and vision systems.
The ideal Quality Assurance Engineer will possess:
- A 4-year College Degree in a Technical Discipline.
- 2-3 years of experience in Quality Engineering.
- Knowledge of Lean Principles and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Experience in interpreting GD&T Blueprints and validating inspections.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills.
