Position Title: Quality Assurance Test Technician

Client: Medical Device Manufacturing Firm

Job Duration: 12 Months

Shift: 3rd Shift (Training on all shifts)

Position Summary: The Quality Assurance Test Technician will play a crucial role in the new product development team within the Surgical Innovation sector of the Minimally Invasive Therapies Group (MITG). This position is integral to executing test activities that align with project specifications and contributes to the R&D Instrumentation team focused on Robotic-Assisted Surgery technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct verification testing on various test fixtures.
  • Effectively communicate test-related tasks and outcomes with team members.
  • Perform gauge repeatability and reproducibility assessments.
  • Provide insights to engineers for the creation of test protocols and prototype constructions.
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical evaluations to assess both new and existing products.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related field is required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of technician principles and hands-on mechanical expertise.
  • Familiarity with standard testing instruments such as force gauges, calipers, and data loggers is preferred.
  • Experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to contribute effectively as a member of cross-functional teams, including quality, electronic, and mechanical engineers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with innovative resolution capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Capability to organize and prioritize tasks, meeting multiple deadlines in a dynamic setting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including active listening and maintaining clear project updates with internal teams and external testing agencies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, functioning as a collaborative team player.
  • Solid understanding of basic statistical analysis.
