Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Management Specialist to join our team at Del Monte Foods Company. As an Inventory Management Specialist, you will be responsible for the overall management and safeguarding of our Finished Goods Inventory, Brite Inventory, Materials, and Fiber Inventory for Plant and DC Operations in Modesto.

  • Develop and adhere to policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure inventory is properly managed and accounted for.
  • Lead the investigation of inventory discrepancies and drive root cause analysis with operation partners.
  • Drive accountability of inventory processes and procedures in both Plant and DC operations.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) dealing with Governance, Maintenance, and Audits.
  • Manage, coach, and develop the inventory control team at Modesto.
  • Direct the cycle count programs, physical inventory, and guide improvements to these programs.
  • Ensure IC teams are completing inventory reconciliation between WMS and SAP to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) standards.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain Leadership team to realize cross-functional efficiency gains and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Inventory Control, Regional Inventory Control, Plants, 3PLs to design, implement, and maintain Inventory Scorecard.
  • Collaborate with Inventory Accounting to ensure proper resolution of balancing inventory general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure that all inventory, receipt, and shipment transactions post on a timely basis and audit them for accuracy.
  • Monitor customer returns in order to proactively identify issues to reduce costs and errors. Audit all credit and debit memos associated with these returns for accuracy.
  • Lead DC and Plant Operations on initiatives and projects.

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Accounting, Business, or related area (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
    • 5-7 years of Supply Chain experience with at least 4 years of Inventory Control experience.
    • Strong leadership (team facilitation, consensus building, project leadership, and project execution).
    • Ability to analyze data and possess acute attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Sound judgment under stressful situations.
    • Self-motivated with proactive response to new challenges.
    • Knowledge of SAP and tier-1 WMS.
    • Proven ability to lead and implement change and improvements in inventory processes.
