Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain knowledge about various pests, including rodents and insects, prepare for licensing examinations, and engage in ongoing training to maintain certifications in diverse pest management topics.
  • Establish professional relationships with clients to understand their specific business challenges.
  • Conduct inspections at client locations to identify pest activity and implement a combination of mechanical, biological, and chemical solutions to manage pest issues.
  • Oversee your own route and schedule to ensure clients receive prompt, high-quality service.
  • Contribute to the health and safety of your community by identifying and managing pest-related problems.

Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards of work quality.
  • A desire for knowledge and professional growth.
  • A competitive spirit in both individual and team settings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of experience in warehousing, logistics, construction, or other physically demanding roles.
  • One or more years of experience in customer service, retail, food service, or hospitality.
  • Certifications in pest control, industrial safety, or related fields.

Position Summary:

The primary role of the Commercial Pest Management Specialist (Route Manager) is to oversee a dedicated route, providing pest control and inspection services to commercial clients in accordance with established standards for timeliness and quality. The Route Manager will cultivate positive professional relationships with clients to fully comprehend their unique business challenges, offer informed guidance, recommend actions, and resolve a variety of pest management issues. The Route Manager reports to the Branch Manager and collaborates with Operations Managers, Sales Representatives, and a team of technicians to continually enhance business operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a dedicated route of commercial clients, delivering exceptional service in a professional, safe, friendly, and courteous manner.
  • Engage in training and certification programs, applying knowledge to locate, identify, eliminate, control, and deter pests.
  • Collaborate with clients and technical specialists to address complex pest issues.
  • Provide proactive, knowledgeable guidance to customers, effectively communicating options and recommendations for managing new or intricate pest challenges.
  • Deliver exceptional service, striving to exceed client expectations in every interaction.
  • Set up, monitor, and dismantle equipment for new installations and specialized treatments.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client complaints and service requests.
  • Work a flexible schedule as needed to meet client expectations, managing your schedule and route to address urgent and unscheduled services in a timely manner.
  • Drive and maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized company service vehicle in accordance with Sprague and DOT standards.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of tools, equipment, and materials in the company vehicle.
  • Seek opportunities to expand accounts and branch sales by requesting referrals, discussing add-on services, products, and equipment with clients, and logging leads for the sales team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with customers, peers, and managers.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time to achieve work goals according to quality standards and deadlines.
  • Adaptability to work effectively in varying environments and job site conditions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, self-directing tasks and escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to identify and rectify errors and inconsistencies.
  • Conflict resolution skills, recommending options and facilitating solutions that best serve both the client and the company's objectives and values.
  • Proficiency in computer software and systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), scheduling and mapping software, smartphone applications, and web-based portals; ability to quickly learn new software.
