Job Summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Janitorial Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our Modesto Red Shield Corps Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean bathrooms, sweep and mop all rooms, clean all windows, pick up trash around the facility, empty all trash cans, rinse and wash out trash cans, and vacuum offices.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Help with stripping, waxing, and buffing all floors, set up rooms for various programs and events, and order and organize all cleaning and janitorial supplies.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in keeping track and ordering inventory supplies.
  • Team Collaboration: Oversee and train volunteers, and attend all staff training and meetings.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Experience: Experience in janitorial work (1 year required), and experience in operating a forklift and/or pallet jack.
  • Skills: Great communication, team player, ability to be independent, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
