Trauma-Informed Counselor

Sanctuary for Families is a leading service provider and advocate for survivors of domestic violence, sex trafficking, and related forms of gender violence. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Trauma-Informed Counselor to join our team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Comprehensive Counseling Services: Offer ongoing and trauma-informed comprehensive counseling services to adult survivors of domestic violence, trafficking, and/or other forms of gender violence.
- Assist Clients in Rebuilding Their Lives: Help clients to move toward managing their trauma; understand the impact of gender-based violence on their lives and that of their children; and reach economic stability through case management, advocacy, and referral if necessary, to organizations providing such services.
- Conduct Assessments and Interviews: Conduct evidence-based assessments and psycho-social interviews for adult survivors of domestic violence, trafficking, and other forms of gender-based violence.
- Provide Safety Planning and Crisis Intervention: Provide safety planning, crisis intervention, advocacy, case management, and referrals to other related services as needed.
- Collaborate with Community Organizations: Conduct trauma-related and gender-based violence outreach and training to community organizations and institutions serving the community.
- Maintain Accurate Case Records: Maintain accurate case records and utilize internal database systems to track direct services to clients and outreach events.
- Licensure or Limited Permit: License or limited permit required to provide therapy/counseling.
- Experience and Familiarity: Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, including working collaboratively with professionals across disciplines.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English required with proficiency in additional community language strongly preferred.
- Competitive Salary: Budgeted Salary: $67,584 - $74,655 per year; based on experience pursuant to wage scale in accordance with collective bargaining agreement.
