Role Overview:

The Surgery Coordinator is responsible for facilitating effective communication between patients, their families, and healthcare professionals. This role encompasses a variety of tasks essential for ensuring a smooth surgical experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with patients and their families, as well as physicians and office personnel, to provide comprehensive support.
  • Manage incoming calls and coordinate the scheduling of appointments, procedures, and surgeries, both via phone and in-person interactions.
  • Ensure that the needs of patients, physicians, and the practice are met efficiently and professionally.
  • Oversee financial clearance processes for surgeries, including precertifications and coordination of necessary services.
  • Handle various administrative tasks, including compiling surgical volume statistics, maintaining administrative calendars for physicians, and optimizing the operating room schedule to enhance productivity.
  • Provide coverage for clinical assistants when required, provided the necessary qualifications are met.


Qualifications:

  • A foundational level of knowledge typically acquired during the first year of college, technical training, or business education.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals across all departments.
  • Proven understanding of effective customer service principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant software applications.
  • Prior experience as a Medical/Clinical Assistant is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is strongly preferred.
