Job Overview:

The Surgical Care Specialist is responsible for providing high-quality surgical subspecialty care to patients. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients’ health status to restore, maintain, and improve their overall well-being. The Specialist will also be responsible for reporting identified safety issues and medical errors.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant in the State of New Jersey.
  • CDS, DEA, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
  • 1-3 years of surgical experience.

Preferred:

  • Plastic surgery experience.
  • General surgical experience.
  • ENT surgical experience.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full-Time.
  • 40 hours.
  • Nights.
  • Weekends/Holiday rotations.

Essential Functions:

  • First-line evaluation of emergency room plastic consults.
  • Perform simple to complex wound management and closure.
  • Splinting simple hand fractures.
  • First-line evaluation and consult for ENT service.
  • Perform interventions on ENT patients relevant to APPs experience and training.
  • Treat epistaxis, PTA, scope upper airways for evaluation and treatment.
