About the Role

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a highly skilled Department Manager to lead our Civil/Site Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the professional, technical, management, marketing, administrative, and financial aspects of the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the department to provide cost-effective services to various stakeholders, including Department Managers, Project Managers, staff, and other employees.
  • Oversee the development of land, including land development plans, stormwater management, water and sanitary sewer, and soil erosion and sediment control design.
  • Manage multiple projects and workload with competing deadlines, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Ensure quality control and regulatory compliance, including permitting and approvals from relevant agencies.
  • Prepare proposals, scope, and budgets for projects, as well as financial management, including invoice preparation and accounts receivable.
  • Develop and implement project schedules, manage client relationships, and mentor and train staff.
  • Perform other project duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 10-15 years of experience in civil engineering, with a strong background in site development and management.
  • Knowledge of local city, county, and state land use processes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in technical skills, including stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analyses, grading, and other site development-related designs.
  • Familiarity with Civil 3D software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact well with coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Construction oversight experience is a plus.
  • Dedicated, responsive, and organized, with a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
