Workers Compensation Claims Manager

AmTrust Financial Services is seeking a highly skilled Workers Compensation Claims Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our claims department, you will be responsible for managing and ensuring the effective handling of Workers Compensation claims activities within our organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement short-range area plans and budgets to achieve company goals and objectives.
• Secure, evaluate, and develop staff to ensure effective team performance.
• Maintain open communication with claim supervisors and manager to ensure current case status is up-to-date.
• Ensure adherence to AmTrust policies, procedures, and controls, and consult with claim supervisors on areas needing improvement.
• Work with staff to ensure approved vendors are being used and monitor attorney vendor panels to discuss action plans for cost-effective and efficient results.
• Collaborate with supervisors to monitor claims, ensure proactive cost-effective, and creative cost management.
• Participate in the negotiation of claims settlements, testify before hearings, trials, and depositions to ensure timely and cost-effective resolution.
• Support AmTrust sales and marketing goals by participating in underwriting sales activities, including new business development.
• Work with the supervisory team to evaluate the performance of claims staff at regular intervals to ensure consistent implementation of company standards and internal quality control.
• Maintain current knowledge of related laws and regulations and communicate to staff.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Five plus years of progressive management and required examiner experience within the Workers Compensation insurance industry.
• SIP certificate where required.
• Working knowledge of budgeting and profit/loss management.
• Experience with computerized claims management and office systems.
• Thorough knowledge of related government laws and regulations.
