About the Role

Hartzell Propeller is seeking a seasoned professional to fill the position of Director of Business Development and Sales for our MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) division. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in driving business growth and revenue expansion in the aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Identify, analyze, and prioritize new business opportunities in collaboration with our sales leadership and site leadership.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop a comprehensive strategic plan to align our MRO businesses with a unified vision for each individual entity.
  • Pricing and Market Analysis: Create strategic pricing recommendations based on data analysis, market trends, and business goals.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Perform competitive market analysis, monitor competitive activity, establish value propositions, and identify customer core needs.
  • Sales Performance: Track and report on sales performance metrics and progress towards targets. Provide insights and recommendations based on sales data and market trends.
  • Forecasting: Develop projections of future sales performance based on historical data, market trends, and business conditions to inform the strategic planning process.

  • Industry Knowledge: Gain a deep understanding of the MRO industry, including market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with MRO site leadership and existing customers.
  • Goal Setting: Establish clear, measurable sales and business development goals for the year that are aligned with overall company objectives.
  • Process Improvement: Review and refine existing sales processes and strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline; MBA desired.
  • Experience: A minimum of 9 years of relevant experience selling FAR145 services.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of maintenance, repair, and overhaul in the aerospace industry.
Technical Competencies
  • Salesforce: Working knowledge of salesforce for pipeline development/tracking, forecasting, and customer relationship management.
  • Business Development: Demonstrates success in business development, new customer development, establishing value propositions, mining for new opportunities, winning new business, and developing and implementing marketing strategies.
  • Communication: Strong writing and presentation skills, with the ability to create a sales deck and prepare proposals.
  • Complexity Simplification: Ability to translate complex concepts and product features into simple customer-ready presentations.
  • Business Acumen: Excellent business acumen and proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
