Position Overview:

The Mechanical Engineering and Modeling Manager will spearhead the recruitment, mentorship, and development of a diverse team of engineers and designers. This role will also utilize expertise in CAD, modeling tools, and systems engineering to create processes that foster transformative growth and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate cutting-edge capabilities for CAD and simulation tools, leading the acquisition, training, and implementation of essential tools to enhance efficiency and quality within the Mechanical Center of Excellence (CoE) design team.
  • Identify critical growth areas in technology and communication to cultivate a continuous growth mindset within the team.
  • Drive improvements in design processes to minimize effort and enhance quality for designers, engineers, analysts, and cross-functional partners.
  • Oversee a team of engineers and designers, responsible for product design, development, and validation across multiple new product development projects.
  • Select, train, and develop department personnel while providing constructive performance feedback.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient understanding of systems engineering with a proven track record in modeling system performance.
  • Advanced skills in CAD, digital modeling tools, and PDM systems.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing continuous improvement initiatives through the integration of advanced technologies within design teams.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a technical team focused on the design and development of new products.
  • Ability to provide timely feedback, training, and coaching to engineering staff, facilitating their career growth.
  • Strong planning and resource management skills to meet deliverables across various new product development programs.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with internal and external cross-functional partners at all management levels.

Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in engineering project and/or personnel management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of product design development and manufacturing processes, including sheet metal fabrication, rotomolding, injection molding, and assembly.
  • Experience in selecting, training, and implementing engineering tools.
