Position Overview:
As a Manufacturing Team Leader, you will oversee daily operations, delegate tasks to team members, monitor production progress, and support assigned personnel.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Assigning tasks and providing guidance to employees throughout the workday. Assisting and training staff in new roles.
- Coordinating work schedules with other leaders and supervisors while maintaining work status updates.
- Conducting quality inspections on ongoing work.
- Monitoring employee safety, quality, methods, and productivity.
- Keeping management informed about work plans, status, and employee performance.
- Assisting in the preparation of mock-ups and prototypes for initial production vehicles.
- Reviewing employee time sheets and other labor documentation, and aiding supervisors in conducting regular safety meetings.
- Utilizing computer systems for information inquiries and transactions to support various duties.
- Working from detailed engineering drawings to fit components into fixtures.
- Assembling components, including steel channels, brackets, angles, sheathing, and subassemblies.
- Tack welding all parts together and ensuring all assemblies meet AWS D 1.1 and 1.3 standards.
To Succeed in This Role, You Will Need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in safely handling structural steel, including the use of cranes, forklifts, lifting fixtures, and slings.
- Certification in A.W.S. D1.1 and D1.3 for welding carbon steel in all positions, as well as A.S.M.E. Section IX for tack welding stainless steel. MIG welding experience is essential.
- Strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measure, as well as the ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
- Confidence in presenting information effectively in both one-on-one and small group settings.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and perform activities such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Occasionally required to sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, climb or balance, and communicate verbally or hear.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities needed include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
- Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- Frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor weather conditions.
- Occasionally works at heights and is exposed to vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate.
