Position Overview:

As a Manufacturing Team Leader, you will oversee daily operations, delegate tasks to team members, closely monitor production progress, and provide support to assigned personnel.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Assigning tasks and providing guidance to employees throughout the workday, including training for new roles.
  • Coordinating work schedules with fellow leaders and supervisors while maintaining oversight of work status.
  • Conducting quality assurance checks on ongoing work.
  • Monitoring safety, quality, methods, and productivity of team members.
  • Keeping management informed about work plans, progress, and employee performance.
  • Assisting in the preparation of prototypes and initial production models.
  • Reviewing employee time sheets and labor documentation, and supporting regular safety meetings.
  • Utilizing computer systems for information inquiries and transactions related to job responsibilities.
  • Interpreting detailed engineering drawings to assemble components accurately.
  • Executing assembly tasks involving steel channels, brackets, angles, sheathing, and various subassemblies.
  • Performing tack welding on components and ensuring compliance with AWS D 1.1 and 1.3 standards.

Qualifications Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in safely handling structural steel, including the use of cranes and forklifts.
  • Certification in A.W.S. D1.1 and D1.3 for welding carbon steel, and A.S.M.E. Section IX for tack welding stainless steel. MIG welding experience is essential.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to perform basic calculations and interpret data.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting information in small group settings.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, and perform activities such as bending and crouching.
  • Occasionally required to sit, use hands for handling objects, and communicate verbally.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment:

  • Regular exposure to fumes and airborne particles.
  • Frequent work near moving mechanical parts and in varying weather conditions.
  • Occasional work at heights and exposure to vibrations.
  • Noise levels in the work environment are generally moderate.
