Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on Repairs: Work closely with estimators and collision repair advisors to evaluate and restore vehicle damage.
  • Parts Coordination: Liaise with the parts department to swiftly acquire necessary components.
  • Precision Repairs: Execute all repairs in strict compliance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Thorough Documentation: Maintain detailed records of materials used and repairs completed.
  • Maintain a Clean Workspace: Ensure your work area is organized and adheres to safety protocols.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct test drives post-repair to ensure impeccable workmanship.

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in collision repair preferred. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in collision repair and painting is essential.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in repairing and replacing damaged vehicle body components, including frames, panels, and bumpers. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as MIG welders and paint spray guns.
  • Certifications: I-CAR certification or equivalent is highly desirable. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Knowledge Base: Strong understanding of auto body repair techniques, including welding, sanding, masking, and painting. Familiarity with manufacturer-specific repair procedures and safety standards is crucial.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy components and standing for extended periods. Manual dexterity and effective use of hand tools and equipment are necessary.
  • Attention to Detail: High precision and meticulous attention to detail in all repair and painting tasks, with a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities to assess damage and determine appropriate repair methods. Capacity to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with collision repair advisors and customers. Proficient in documenting repair work and explaining technical issues to non-technical individuals.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team and support colleagues as needed.
