Job Overview

Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician for our 1st shift operations. This role requires flexibility to work rotating weekends. The primary focus is on possessing extensive knowledge of electrical systems while also engaging in mechanical tasks to ensure the preventative maintenance, scheduled, and unscheduled repairs of production line equipment and supporting systems. This includes working with PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and troubleshooting electrical issues, as well as handling power systems up to 480 volts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as a team member.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot blending and packaging machinery, along with other plant support equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Conduct setup, adjustments, timing, troubleshooting, and programming of electrical systems using ladder logic and schematics.
  • Maintain equipment reliability by addressing breakdowns promptly and minimizing downtime.
  • Dismantle, inspect, and rebuild electrical assemblies to meet production specifications.
  • Perform mechanical duties including calibration, tuning, and preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Execute complex troubleshooting on industrial electrical and electronic systems related to blending and packaging equipment.
  • Manage control systems involving low voltage, PLC programs, and various instrumentation control loops.
  • Support various material handling systems and packaging equipment utilizing PLCs and HMIs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, including NFPA 70e and NEC codes.
  • Utilize aerial lifts and interpret machine assembly prints and wiring diagrams.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards, good manufacturing practices (GMPs), and relevant regulations.
  • Utilize proper PPE and ensure forklift compliance.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conduct changeovers and general maintenance, ensuring proper setup of production lines.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report issues to the maintenance supervisor.
  • Complete maintenance schedules and work orders effectively.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Collaborate with other departments to communicate work order statuses and requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of maintenance machine repair experience, preferably in the Food and Beverage or high-speed manufacturing sectors.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuitry.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
