Job Overview

Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician for our first shift operations. This role requires flexibility to work rotating weekends and focuses on maintaining a thorough understanding of electrical systems while also performing mechanical tasks. The primary duties include ensuring preventative maintenance, addressing scheduled and unscheduled repairs of production line equipment, and supporting systems such as PLCs, VFDs, and motor controls, while working with electrical power systems up to 480 volts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures in blending and packaging equipment within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Conduct setup, adjustments, and programming of electrical systems utilizing ladder logic and schematics.
  • Maintain equipment reliability by addressing breakdowns promptly and minimizing downtime.
  • Dismantle and inspect electrical assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Perform mechanical tasks including calibration, tuning, and preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Execute complex troubleshooting of industrial electrical systems, including PLCs and HMIs.
  • Manage control systems involving low voltage and various instrumentation loops.
  • Support packaging machinery operations, ensuring optimal performance of equipment such as fillers and conveyors.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards, including compliance with NFPA 70e and NEC codes.
  • Utilize aerial lifts and interpret machine assembly prints and wiring diagrams.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conduct general maintenance and inspections of production lines to ensure proper setup.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report issues to the maintenance supervisor.
  • Complete maintenance schedules and work orders, optimizing resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with other departments to communicate requirements and status updates.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position include the ability to perform prolonged physical activities such as standing, bending, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs. Close visual acuity is necessary for tasks involving inspection and operation of machinery. The role may also require working in varying environmental conditions.
