Job Summary

The Regional Sales Director will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to achieve company sales targets and objectives. This role requires a proven track record in sales management, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the cannabis industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Strategy and Planning
    • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve company sales targets and objectives.
    • Identify new business opportunities and expand the company's market presence.
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform sales strategies.
    • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to senior management.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to maximize performance and achieve individual and team goals.
    • Conduct regular sales training sessions to enhance team skills and product knowledge.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and partners.
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service and effective communication.
    • Address client concerns and provide solutions in a timely manner.
  • Business Operations
    • Collaborate with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
    • Manage sales budgets and optimize resource allocation.
  • Communications
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all sales-related communications.
    • Effectively communicate sales strategies, goals, and performance to the team and senior management.
    • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
  • Compliance
    • Compliance with all safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements in various settings, particularly when visiting cultivation or production sites.
    • Adherence to company policies regarding workplace conduct, including complying with all local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to the cannabis industry.
    Requirements
    • Education and Experience
      • Bachelor's degree required or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
      • Experience in cannabis industry is desirable, but not required.
      • Minimum of 1-3 years of sales management experience, preferably in the cannabis industry or a related field. Minimum 5 years of retail management experience
    • Qualifications
      • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
      • Strong leadership and team management skills.
      • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
      • In-depth knowledge of the cannabis industry, including regulations, market trends, and competitive landscape.
      • Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
      • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
      • Hold yourself to a high level of integrity. In an industry that is highly regulated, we trust in our employees' commitment to always do the right thing.
      • Strong business acumen including data management, attention to detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
      • A high level of integrity, personal motivation, adaptability, and sense of urgency
      • Available to work all hours of operation inclusive of nights, weekends, and holidays
      • Ability to prioritize safety practices and follow standard operating procedures.
      • Communicate fluently in English (verbal and written).
      • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Preferred Qualifications
      • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
      • Established network of contacts within the cannabis industry.
      • Passion for the cannabis industry and a commitment to the company's mission and values.
    • Computers and Technology
      • Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Teams (with strong Excel skills)
    • Supervisory Responsibilities
      • This position will be responsible for performance management, coaching, supervision, fostering teamwork, training and development of 1 or more employees.
    • Work Environment and Physical Demands

      • The work environment is primarily office-based with occasional travel to client sites, industry events, and trade shows. The role may involve working in various settings, including retail locations, cultivation facilities, and production sites within the cannabis industry. Frequent collaboration with team members, other departments, and external partners is required.
      • The position requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings. Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, feel, and operate objects, tools, or controls. The ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally, such as when setting up for trade shows or handling promotional materials. Standing, walking, and moving around office spaces or client locations is necessary. The role may involve occasional bending, stooping, and reaching. Clear vision and hearing are required for communication and to use standard office equipment. The ability to travel by car, plane, or other means of transportation as needed for business purposes.
