Cashier - Steamed Dumpling and Noodle Restaurant

About the Role

Cashiers are primarily responsible for handling most or all payment transactions for the entire restaurant and handling all takeout orders. Cashiers pick up most or all guest calls to the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provides a cheerful, welcoming first and last impression for all guests, both in person and over the phone, with exemplary customer service.
  • Cash Handling: Ensures that the cash drawers are counted before and after each shift and that all card and cash payments are counted and reconciled correctly in accordance with Din Tai Fung's Cashiering SOP.
  • Takeout Coordination: Handles and coordinates all of the takeout orders for the restaurant.
  • Lost and Found: Logs all lost and found items in the Guest Lost and Found Tracking Log in accordance with Din Tai Fung's Guest Lost and Found Tracking SOP.
  • Cleanliness: Cleans, organizes and maintains the Cashier area and all adjacent areas.
  • Side Work: Performs Cashier Side Work, including but not limited to cleaning menus, wiping windows, sweeping, and taking out trash.
  • Labeling: Labels all items in accordance with Health Department regulations and Din Tai Fung procedures.
Supporting Functions
  • Teamwork: Maintains a cheerful, friendly and welcoming demeanor to all guests and co-workers.
  • Front of House: Keeps all Front of House areas clean, organized and sanitized.
  • Lifting: Lifts/moves boxes, bags, chairs, and tables (up to 50 pounds).
  • Deep Cleaning: Assists with regular deep cleaning of the restaurant.
  • Confidentiality: Maintains confidentiality regarding all propriety information, including but not limited to recipes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
