Position: Kitchen Sanitation Specialist
Compensation: $21.00 per hour
The compensation for this role may vary based on several factors, including prior experience, relevant skills, current business needs, and market conditions. About Us:
Din Tai Fung is a renowned Chinese dining establishment known for its exquisite Xiao Long Bao, or steamed soup dumplings, each crafted by hand with our signature 18 folds. Established in Taiwan in 1958 as a cooking oil retailer, Din Tai Fung transitioned into a dumpling and noodle restaurant in 1972. Today, it boasts over 170 locations globally, including 14 in the United States across various states.

Role Overview:
The Kitchen Sanitation Specialist is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of all dishes and utensils by utilizing the 3-compartment sink and commercial dishwasher. Additional responsibilities include cleaning the dining area, managing waste disposal according to regulations, unloading deliveries, and supporting various operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Comprehends and adheres to all safety guidelines regarding the use of cleaning chemicals
  • Utilizes personal protective equipment to ensure safety and minimize chemical exposure
  • Employs the appropriate cleaning agents designated for each task
  • Operates the 3-compartment sink and commercial dishwasher effectively
  • Prepares and disposes of trash, cardboard, and other waste according to regulations
  • Safely disposes of hazardous materials and sharp objects
  • Maintains cleanliness throughout the restaurant
  • Handles and transports deliveries within the restaurant
  • Labels items in compliance with health regulations and company procedures
  • Participates in monthly staff and position-specific meetings
Additional Duties:
  • Ensures all kitchen areas are sanitized and organized
  • Arranges items within storage areas
  • Lifts and moves items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Assists with periodic deep cleaning of kitchen areas
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding proprietary information, including recipes and operational procedures.
