Job Overview

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
We are looking for a dependable and customer-oriented individual to fill the role of a Restaurant Cashier. The successful candidate will manage transactions with precision and speed while delivering outstanding service to our patrons. This position demands excellent interpersonal abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to excel in a dynamic setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcome and greet patrons in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Accurately process customer orders using the POS (Point of Sale) system, including entering items, calculating totals, and processing payments.
  • Securely handle cash, credit/debit cards, and other payment methods in line with company protocols.
  • Confirm order accuracy by verifying items and prices with both service staff and guests, ensuring any modifications or special requests are noted.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized cashier area, including restocking supplies, cleaning surfaces, and arranging menus or promotional materials.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by promptly addressing guest inquiries or concerns.
  • Reconcile cash drawers and transactions at the end of each shift, adhering to proper accounting practices.
  • Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations to uphold a clean and hygienic work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Previous experience in a cashier or customer service role, ideally within a restaurant or food service context.
  • Proficient in handling cash transactions and operating POS systems with accuracy.
  • Familiarity with fast-paced environments requiring multitasking and prioritization.
  • Experience in guest-facing roles, demonstrating the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
  • Competence in operating office equipment such as POS systems, computers, and telephones.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Mobility to navigate the restaurant, including walking to greet guests or deliver items.
  • Flexibility to reach, bend, and stoop as needed.
