Position Overview:
We are in search of a Senior Mechanical Facilities Engineer to oversee the design of HVAC and Plumbing/Piping systems for various critical and support projects. This position requires comprehensive planning, execution, and coordination of design phases, along with the development of specifications and assurance of quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design HVAC and Plumbing/Piping systems, including necessary calculations, process flow diagrams, and layout of mechanical equipment along with duct and piping systems.
  • Develop specifications for mechanical construction and equipment, along with test and inspection plans, and detailed system design descriptions.
  • Utilize standard techniques and procedures for simpler projects while adapting methods for more complex tasks.
  • Conduct engineering quality assurance checks on project designs.
  • Assist in new project proposals by providing mechanical discipline scopes, budget estimates, and timelines.
  • Engage with and present designs to Federal, State, and Local government clients.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team, coordinating tasks and collaborating with engineers, designers, and administrative personnel.
  • Travel to various project sites may be necessary, including potential international travel.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Accredited Program (Engineering Technology degree not considered).
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • PE License.
  • Capability to obtain a Department of Defense security clearance.
  • Proven experience in the design of HVAC and plumbing/piping systems and related engineering calculations.
  • Experience in sizing and selecting HVAC and plumbing/piping equipment.
  • Proficient in drafting and writing mechanical construction and equipment specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with HVAC design software and knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of ASHRAE, SMACNA, and NFPA standards.
  • Knowledge of IMC, IPC, and IBC codes.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for client projects.
