Key Responsibilities:


The Senior Mechanical Engineering Lead will independently conduct and oversee analytical and design tasks that support engineering initiatives and projects.

Employing both fundamental and advanced engineering principles, you will perform thorough reviews of design submissions prepared by external design firms and architects.

Engage in additional engineering functions necessary for facility design, configuration management, and operational support.

Qualifications:


The ideal applicant will possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, along with a minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience.

Preferred candidates will hold a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical or Mechanical Design Engineering, complemented by 10 or more years of relevant experience.


Essential Skills:


Demonstrated ability to independently execute and lead analytical and design tasks, ensuring that plant designs and constructed facilities adhere to site specifications and Urenco's engineering standards.

A comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and exceptional problem-solving capabilities are essential.

Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team to address a variety of engineering challenges within the relevant discipline.

Strong communication skills are required to work with other departments to resolve technical issues and implement engineering solutions.
Ability to present updates and information to senior management regularly, ensuring clear communication of status and performance.
Proficiency in addressing and escalating issues to the appropriate management levels promptly.

Position Details:
The role is based at Urenco USA.
Emergency Response requirements are flexible.

Work Schedule:
Professional schedule with limited night and weekend commitments. Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary. Employees may also be subject to call-outs as needed.
Travel may be required up to 20% of the time.

Security Clearance:
Access to Controlled Areas requires an L or Q level security clearance.

Work Environment:
Exposure to radiological conditions is expected.

Primary Functions:
Develop and maintain an understanding of the facility's design and licensing requirements within your area of responsibility. Complete necessary training and qualifications to fulfill job responsibilities.
Resolve technical challenges in accordance with established protocols and vendor documentation.
Conduct analyses, calculations, and design development in support of engineering programs and projects.
Generate Plant Modification packages based on identified solutions or issues.
Perform technical and quality assessments of various engineering outputs. Advanced roles may include reviewing atypical documents and scenarios.
Respond to engineering inquiries, interpreting specifications and devising project/system strategies.
Apply sound engineering judgment and professionalism in all analyses and tasks.
