The OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team in Darien, CT. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide best-in-class venipuncture services to patients of all ages
- Perform and assist with extended scope duties, including non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs
- Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, and processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization
- Dispensary responsibilities include verifying counts, maintaining inventory, placing orders, receiving and stocking, filling, packaging, and labeling prescriptions for patient pick-up
- Continue to care for our members beyond the lab room by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting our providers and virtual medical team with clerical duties
- Active Medical Assistant certification from NHA, AAMA, NCCT, or the AMT with at least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist
- Graduated from a postsecondary Medical Assistant program accredited by either the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), or another accrediting organization recognized by the United States Department of Education
- Proficiency in computer technology, including typing, navigating the internet, and using multiple software systems simultaneously
- Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams
