The Opportunity

We're seeking a Medical Assistant - Lab Services Specialist to provide exceptional patient experiences and support our clinical teams. As a key member of our patient care team, you'll perform venipuncture and other clinical support services, utilizing the highest quality standards and providing personalized care to patients of all ages.

Responsibilities
  • Provide best-in-class venipuncture services, utilizing a growth mindset to navigate changing technology and workflows
  • Perform and assist with extended scope duties, including non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs
  • Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, and processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization
  • Support our providers and virtual medical team with clerical duties, such as biometric screening forms, medical record review, billing inquiries, and DOH reporting
  • Master our technology suite, including Slack, G-suite, Zoom, and our Electronic Medical Record System 1Life
Requirements
  • Active Medical Assistant certification from NHA, AAMA, NCCT, or the AMT
  • Graduated from an accredited postsecondary Medical Assistant program or completion of relevant Medical Assistant training by any branch of the armed forces
  • At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in computer technology, including typing, navigating the internet, and using multiple software systems simultaneously
  • Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams
  • A proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during the collection process
  • A proven track record of persisting through change and learning quickly and effectively

This is a full-time role (40 hrs/week) with shifts generally taking place between 8:00am-6:00pm based in our Darien, CT, New Canaan, CT, and Westport, CT offices. Flex Lab Services Specialists lend support to multiple One Medical locations in a market and location and schedule are subject to change.
