The OpportunityWe're seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant - Lab Services Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our primary care team, you'll play a vital role in providing an exceptional experience for our patients. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering high-quality venipuncture services, as well as other clinical support services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide best-in-class venipuncture services to patients of all ages
- Assist with extended scope duties, including non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs
- Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, and processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization
- Support our patients beyond the lab room by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting our providers and virtual medical team with clerical duties
- Master our technology suite, including Slack, G-suite, Zoom, and our Electronic Medical Record System 1Life
- Active Medical Assistant certification from NHA, AAMA, NCCT, or the AMT
- Graduated from an accredited postsecondary Medical Assistant program or completion of relevant Medical Assistant training by any branch of the armed forces
- At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in computer technology, including typing, navigating the internet, and using multiple software systems simultaneously
- Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams
- Competitive hourly rate of $25.75 to $27.75 per hour
- Total compensation packages may be based on factors unique to particular candidates, such as skill sets, depth of experience, and work location
