The OpportunityWe're seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant - Lab Services Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our primary care team, you'll provide an exceptional experience for our patients by delivering high-quality venipuncture services and other clinical support services. You'll work closely with our diverse team of providers and administrative assistants to ensure seamless care delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Provide best-in-class venipuncture services to patients of all ages
- Perform and assist with extended scope duties, including non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs
- Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, and processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization
- Continuously care for our members beyond the lab room by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting providers and virtual medical teams with clerical duties
- Master our technology suite, including Slack, G-suite, Zoom, and our Electronic Medical Record System, to interact with team members and complete daily work
- Active Medical Assistant certification from NHA, AAMA, NCCT, or the AMT
- Graduated from an accredited postsecondary Medical Assistant program or completion of relevant Medical Assistant training by any branch of the armed forces
- At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in computer technology, including typing, navigating the internet, and using multiple software systems simultaneously
- Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams, with a plus for remote teams
- A proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during the collection process while delivering individualized, human-centered, customer-focused care
- A proven track record of persisting through change, consistently stepping up to take action on challenges, and learning quickly and effectively when faced with new situations or tasks
- Experience with extended scope care, including non-blood specimen collection and processing, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs, is preferred

One Medical is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The range for this role is $25.75 to $27.75 per hour based on a standard full-time schedule. Total compensation packages may be based on factors unique to particular candidates, such as skill sets, depth of experience, and work location.
