About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our Life Science Partnerships team at Flatiron Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for generating and closing business opportunities with our biopharma partners, supporting them in advancing their research priorities using Flatiron solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grow Revenue: Build upon new and existing relationships with biopharma partners, proactively pitch solutions, and negotiate commercial terms to drive revenue growth.
  • Develop New Business Proposals: Contribute to the development of new business proposals that directly contribute to Flatiron's revenues across the Research business.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Become a subject matter expert on our biopharma partners' portfolio and research priorities to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
  • Long-Term Partnerships: Support Flatiron's strategic approach to long-term partnerships with biopharma users of our research offerings.
  • Represent Flatiron: Become a subject matter expert on Flatiron's offerings and reliably represent our capabilities to advance the research priorities of our biopharma partners.
  • Support Partners: Support our partners in their use of Flatiron's research offerings by facilitating data and analytical onboarding sessions, identifying value-added opportunities for RWE, and supporting onsite client meetings to collect feedback and support use cases.
  • Internal Initiatives: Support advancement of internal Flatiron initiatives and priorities, such as identifying future growth opportunities and optimizing internal ways of working.
  • Customer Voice: Act as the voice of the customer across internal functional groups, influencing go-to-market strategy and ensuring customer needs are met.
Requirements
  • Client-Facing Experience: 4+ years of experience in client-facing roles, delivering products, services, or analyses to biopharma companies.
  • Education: B.A. or B.S. in biological sciences, economics, engineering, biostatistics, or similar; or advanced degree in a biological science, applied health, or business with 3+ years of strategic client engagement/business development experience.
  • Skills: Independently owns book-of-work and/or end-to-end client management for biopharma accounts with minimal oversight; at least 1+ year of experience leading/supporting sales of products/services to biopharma; experience leading end-to-end sales of products/services; exposure to project work in oncology; understands biopharma industry dynamics across stages of drug development cycle/value chain and familiar with biopharma org structure; experience working in team or cross-functional settings and has a strong willingness to collaborate; detail-oriented with a strong desire to develop content expertise (e.g., RWE, clinical oncology, HEOR); able to navigate ambiguity.
