Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Executive Director of Ambulatory Operations to join our team at Advocate Health. This is a key leadership role that will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our ambulatory services, including clinics and service lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and operational management oversight of our ambulatory services, including clinics and service lines.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive operational excellence in access, patient experience, and physician/clinician well-being.
  • Resource Allocation: Direct and control the allocation of resources, including capital and expenses, FTE utilization, and space to effectively meet goals and objectives.
  • Performance Management: Monitor and evaluate the performance of our ambulatory services, identifying opportunities for improvement and partnering with leadership to drive change.
  • Human Resources: Perform human resources responsibilities for staff, including interviewing and selection of new team members, development, performance management, and overall team member engagement.
  • Budgeting and Financial Management: Develop and recommend operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
  • Physician and APC Recruitment: Support and participate in physician and APC recruitment, including plan development for new specialties, implementation timetable, physician contracts, and utilization of clinic space.
  • Productivity and Performance: Drive productivity benchmarks and monitor performance against established internal benchmarks, as well as industry trends and benchmarks.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's Degree in Health Care Administration, Management, or related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in management in either clinic or acute environments, including experiences developing and leading operations and successfully developing physician relationships.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to establish excellent working relationships and strategic partnerships with various teams, physicians, executives, and other team members across a large organization; results-oriented and strong execution skills; tenacity and attention to detail to effectively evaluate programs; ability to successfully work in a matrixed organization; analytical and problem-solving skills, creative facilitation, and innovation in collaboration with leaders across the organization.
