As a Supply Chain Planner, you will oversee the management of inventory and the routing of customer materials at a unit level, including exchange pools and inventory at service centers. You will procure materials, equipment, and services within set parameters for quality, quantity, and pricing from various suppliers. Your responsibilities will include obtaining quotes and negotiating delivery terms, as well as maintaining the accuracy of related data and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inventory control activities by aligning company objectives (cost, quality, delivery), establishing and maintaining inventory analysis, monitoring customer consignment parts, disposing of surplus inventory, rescheduling orders when necessary, and transferring inventory between locations as required.
  • This position emphasizes subcontract routing for repairs, obtaining quotes, and expediting customer parts to different vendors.
  • Additional duties will involve processing stock credits and transferring materials to other units through the Over The Counter (OTC) sales process.
  • Manage internal rework orders by initiating, tracking, posting, and crediting internal parts to support our used serviceable material initiatives.
  • Collaborate with service centers to set targets and plan purchases based on forecasts and replacement factors to support specific job functions.
  • Request quotes from vendors to ensure optimal quality, pricing, and delivery terms; research new products and suppliers; provide data to technical teams to assist in purchasing decisions; and expedite orders for timely delivery.
  • Ensure data integrity within inventory systems by creating and updating item master files, analyzing engineering changes, monitoring overdue purchase orders, investigating inventory discrepancies, and updating cost data.
  • Coordinate the return of damaged goods, arranging replacements or credits, and documenting all transactions.
  • Develop new, used, and subcontract supplier/vendor relationships by sourcing vendors, negotiating terms, administering qualification surveys, and educating suppliers on company policies.
  • Review and suggest updates to company policies and procedures related to materials.
  • Train and supervise other Planners/Buyers.
  • Monitor and report on performance metrics including inventory levels, shortages, opportunity costs, inventory turnover, supplier performance, and compliance.
  • Work with Logistics to maximize freight savings and communicate priority shipments.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Undertake additional projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Strong skills in planning, organization, analysis, negotiation, communication, and decision-making.
  • Understanding of repair management processes and inventory control systems is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Oracle is a plus.
  • Familiarity with inventory control, purchasing, and production management systems is beneficial.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent experience in Supply Chain roles is preferred.
  • Experience in inventory management or FAA Repair Station environments is a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
