Job Overview

The Inventory Control Specialist plays a crucial role in managing inventory tasks within the designated Retail Distribution Center. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Effectively communicate with production staff and management

- Proficient in computer usage for data entry related to inventory counts

- Must possess experience with Microsoft Office applications

- Strong problem-solving skills are essential

- Request and prepare cycle count item lists for weekly audits

- Conduct weekly inventory assessments

- Report on physical counts, reconciliations, and quality holds

- Perform daily cycle counts against recorded inventory

- Review backlog daily to identify inventory shortages

- Foster a collaborative relationship with the Central Receiving Manager and the Divisional Inventory Team

- Ensure a safe and productive work environment while maintaining high morale among staff.


Keep management informed about any issues that may impact production operations.


Adhere to company policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- High school diploma or GED required

- Candidates with the following qualifications are preferred:

- Experience in a manufacturing setting

- Background in computer data entry

- Familiarity with the corrugated box industry

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

Excellent communication skills are required, with the ability to read and interpret documents such as reports and manuals. Proficient in writing routine correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL ABILITY

Capability to perform basic arithmetic operations and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

REASONING SKILLS

Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in various formats. Capable of solving diverse problems with limited information.


TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Proficient in computer data entry applications

- Knowledge of products and production processes

- Understanding of quality standards and customer requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly required to walk, talk, hear, stand, and sit.

VISION REQUIREMENTS
Includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT


While performing job duties, employees may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.



PERFORMANCE METRICS

The performance of the Inventory Control Specialist will be evaluated based on:

- Adherence to operating standards set within the Distribution Center


- Personal development goals established annually in collaboration with management.


- Employee relations and communication skills.


- Creativity and initiative in contributing to business improvements.
