Job Summary

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Blacks in Technology serves as its visionary, strategic, and operational leader. This individual is responsible for understanding and leveraging the rights, duties, and resources provided to the organization. The CEO is accountable to the Board of Directors and oversees the envisioning, planning, organization, coordination, direction, review, redirection, and reporting of the organization's activities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee a multi-million-dollar annual budget and a team of 10 plus direct reports.
  2. Be visionary and proactively identify, develop, and implement innovative initiatives and programs to build a high technology industry that fits our community's culture and needs.
  3. Work with a variety of companies, ranging from startups to large, established institutions.
  4. Actively seek opportunities to expand existing programs and initiatives, and adjust or eliminate those that are not effective.
  5. Seek funding from government agencies when necessary.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in leading a team and managing a large budget.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, businesses, and community organizations.
