Chief Nurse Executive

The Chief Nurse Executive (CNE) at Kaiser Permanente provides visionary leadership and strategic direction for all aspects of patient care within the medical center. This role ensures integration of services and compliance with long-range objectives and strategies, including the provision of excellent quality services and responsible fiscal management.
Key Responsibilities:- Communication and Relationship Management: Develops effective working relationships with key stakeholders and operational leaders to build trust and inspire commitment to achieve organizational goals.
- Leadership and Strategic Planning: Provides direction to all patient care services within the hospital license to integrate services and provide uniform standards of care. Participates in medical center strategic planning and partners to develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies to ensure a sufficient and stable workforce of qualified staff members.
- Quality and Performance Improvement: Implements the organization's performance and quality improvement programs, including innovating, planning, setting priorities, conducting systematic assessments, implementing improvements, and maintaining achieved improvements. Generates and encourages innovation and creative solutions to issues or problems.
- Financial Management: Applies financial knowledge by forecasting, developing, and analyzing operating and capital budgets. Assures short and long-range financial goals are met. Collaborates with facility management and medical staff to develop the overall financial plan for the medical center.

Requirements:- Demonstrates executive-level leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Applies competency in technology applications related to business and clinical functions.
- Monitors and assesses trends, external environment and internal practices.
- Ensures compliance with legal and ethical issues related to client data, information, and confidentiality.
This role represents the professional practice of nursing and clinical provision of care as a member of the medical center executive leadership team, the medical executive committee and other medical staff committees. The Chief Nurse Executive will provide a supportive and stimulating learning environment for nursing students and participate in the academic community through advisory and collaborative efforts.
