Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Administrative Officer to join our team at the University of Hawai'i. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the Administrative Services department, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of administrative support services to the College.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Administrative Services department
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient delivery of administrative support services
  • Oversee the planning, organizing, and directing of all administrative support services required by the College
  • Manage and/or partner with other campus stakeholders to provide environmental, health and safety activities for the campus
  • Coordinate program reviews within the Administrative Services department and assist with the development of the accreditation self-study and strategic planning processes and reports
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Five years of experience in fiscal and personnel management, with at least three years in a supervisory capacity
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with various constituents and decision-making bodies of a college or a large and complex activity/organization
  • Demonstrated outstanding analytical and communication skills, extensive knowledge of policy analysis, systems analysis, modeling and computer capabilities, and principles of organizational behavior and structure
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate an administrative vision that takes account of both internal capacities and external constraints
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the full range of internal and external university constituents
Desirable Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business Administration
  • Two or more years of administrative experience in areas such as procurement and purchasing, budget preparation and execution, collective bargaining contract administration, CIP development, federal project administration, government accounting, organizational management, and facilities management
  • Administrative experience in a post-secondary educational environment
  • Knowledge of University and state governmental operations
  • Evidence of commitment to Kapi'olani Community College's vision of positioning itself as a model indigenous serving institution whose graduates strengthen the social, economic, and sustainable advancement of Hawai'i and the world
