Regional Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership to Community Managers and Maintenance Technicians within the designated area.
  • Identify and nurture potential leaders within the region to empower site managers and maintenance staff for advancement opportunities.
  • Enforce company disciplinary protocols and maintain documentation up to potential termination when necessary.
  • Educate and train site personnel to ensure a comprehensive understanding of property operating budgets, reserve accounts, and financial guidelines.
  • Foster a service-oriented culture that aligns with CAHEC Management's Principles & Values, ensuring high-quality service delivery to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between residents and onsite staff when issues arise that cannot be resolved at the site level.
  • Encourage continuous professional development among employees to create a robust internal talent pipeline.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and resolve any issues affecting properties within the region.
  • Collaborate directly with site managers and maintenance teams to ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of property interiors and exteriors to verify adherence to regulatory requirements and management expectations.
  • Monitor occupancy rates and implement strategies to maintain high occupancy levels.
  • Prepare summaries of rent collections to ensure optimal financial performance.
  • Oversee site expenditures to guarantee operations remain within budgetary constraints.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of affordable housing federal program requirements, including USDA RD, HUD, and LIHTC compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, document, and implement formal policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing conditions to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience in coaching, leading, and supervising multiple direct reports.
  • Strong leadership skills in managing a multifamily housing portfolio, including operational analysis and strategic oversight.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1988, Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1974, and Landlord/Tenant Laws.
