Job Summary

As a Patient Services Coordinator at Sentara Healthcare, you will play a crucial role in ensuring maximum reimbursement and reducing denials related to incomplete insurance information and/or authorization. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate activities for specific physician practices, including insurance verification, precertification, scheduling, pre-registration, and order transmission.
  • Maintain accurate statistics and serve as a liaison between clinical testing sites and physicians' offices.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Two years of experience in a healthcare environment or completion of a healthcare-related certificate program
  • Associate's Degree or higher or transferable skills (e.g., customer service, call center experience)
