Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join our team at the Child Development Center at Keene State College. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing a best practices developmentally appropriate curriculum, modeling appropriate and nurturing child guidance, and observing, assessing, and recording children's progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a best practices developmentally appropriate curriculum for children aged 2.9 to 4.11 years old.
• Model appropriate and nurturing child guidance, fostering positive relationships with team members, children, and families.
• Observe, assess, and record children's progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
• Engage with each family, maintaining ongoing communication through daily updates, regular written communication, and parent conferences.
• Meet monthly with the CDC Director, complete annual evaluations, and participate in student employee meetings.
• Attend CDC staff meetings, participate on committees, and contribute to special projects.
• Uphold all procedures and policies of the Child Development Center and Keene State College.
• Stay current with professional knowledge and information by attending conferences, workshops, and reading relevant literature.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood, Family Studies, Elementary Education, or a related field with at least 18 credits in Early Childhood Education, including 3 credits in child development.
• One year of related experience, with demonstrated communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform duties and responsibilities of the position.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience leading teaching children B-5.
• Teaching experience in a laboratory early childhood center.
• NH Credential, Pediatric CPR, and First Aid Certification.
• Ability to speak a second language or bring a multicultural perspective to the campus.
