Job Summary
As a Childcare Lead Teacher at the Keene Family YMCA, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and engaging environment for children to grow and develop. You will be responsible for implementing curriculum, designing daily lesson plans, and supervising children and classroom activities. Key Responsibilities
  • Build meaningful relationships with children, parents, and staff while exemplifying the Y's commitment to DEI and the four-character values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
  • Implement curriculum and design daily lesson plans that promote youth development, social responsibility, and healthy living.
  • Supervise children and classroom activities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment.
  • Conduct ongoing observations and evaluations of each child, providing feedback to parents and staff.
  • Maintain program records and participate in staff meetings and training.

Requirements
  • Meets 80% to 100% of the following qualifications: ability to perform duties with professionalism, enthusiasm, kindness, empathy, care, honesty, and respect; ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people; meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law; at least 21 years of age; CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
  • Preferred qualifications: certificate in DEI or extensive training and work experience; associate degree or higher in ECE or equivalent; 3 or more years of experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
