Job Title: Supervisor of Billing

The Supervisor of Billing is a key role within our organization, responsible for overseeing the entire billing process from start to finish. This includes understanding all aspects of self-funded billing and collections, cash application, and finance business and systems support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify customer-focused process improvement opportunities and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Train, mentor, and grow a team of self-funded analysts to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Work with technical staff to identify system functions that support work processes and implement solutions to improve workflow.
  • Act as a business consultant and partner with internal and external customers to maintain workflow controls and consistency.
  • Provide month-end reporting and variance analysis, self-funded settlements, and ad-hoc reporting to internal and external customers.
  • Consult with management to develop business solutions that streamline processes and reduce adverse impact to customers.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of complex business needs and manage projects from start to finish.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field and audit, compliance, and training experience in a healthcare/insurance industry is strongly preferred.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of experience working within a billing, finance, or operations department is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and skills to quickly and accurately investigate issues and take them to resolution with little to no supervision.
  • Ability to define complex business issues and determine best-fit solutions, with effective project management skills.
  • Proven knowledge of process flows, regulatory impacts, and timelines to ensure requirements, testing, and implementation are in compliance across operational disciplines.
  • Ability to compile detailed reporting and data mining to support business needs.
  • Proficient in trend analysis and communicating with business partners on findings and recommendations to minimize impacts to other areas and the customer.
  • Demonstrated success working in a team environment with various levels of talent, experience, and motivation.
  • Ability to focus on continuous process improvement and leverage efficiencies within the department.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Technical Requirements:
  • Strong technical ability to employ and manipulate systems to generate needed reporting and validate reports to ensure data used is accurate.
  • Ability to understand and work with multiple systems applications, such as Health Rules, Tableau, PeopleSoft, and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
