Director of Development

The Director of Development will play a pivotal role in driving fundraising efforts for The Soraya, a premier performing arts center. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills to identify, cultivate, and steward donors.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to drive growth and revenue for The Soraya.
- Collaborate with the Executive and Artistic Director, Senior Director of Development, and Central Development colleagues to identify and pursue major gift opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals, Boards of Directors, and Board committees to secure major gifts.
- Utilize a CRM database to identify and engage new prospects from a diverse pool of over 100,000 existing Soraya members and ticket buyers.
- Lead a team to support the operational mission and vision of The Soraya, fostering an ethical, inclusive, and collegial work environment.
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university or college, master's degree preferred.
- Experience working successfully with high-net-worth individuals, Boards of Directors, and Board committees, preferably in the Los Angeles philanthropic community.
- Strong communication, both oral and written, to clearly and persuasively convey the need for support and impact that support creates.
- Ability to thrive in a goal-oriented environment, and to succeed both in working independently and collaboratively.
- Salary is commensurate with knowledge, skills, and experience.

- The position is currently hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
