The UCLA Library is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development to lead our major gifts fundraising efforts. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for planning and implementing a proactive major gift program that supports the UCLA Library's integral programs and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Conceptualize, plan, and implement special events to engage donors and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, with a strong focus on soliciting and closing gifts in the annual, special, and major gifts range.
- Work collaboratively with academic leaders, faculty, and development staff to achieve fundraising goals.
- Recruit, orient, train, organize, motivate, and evaluate staff and volunteers who support development goals and programs.
- Establish priorities, manage multiple tasks and multi-phase projects simultaneously, and complete work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum of three years of fundraising experience and/or prior professional experience in a related field such as sales, marketing, or business development.
- Experience in and strong documented record of gifts solicited and closed in the annual, special, and/or major gifts range.
- Working knowledge of the principles and practices of fundraising in a university setting.
- Proven skills in planning, implementing, and administering major gift solicitations.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to work harmoniously with volunteers, academic leaders, faculty, and other development staff.
- Bachelor's Degree.
