About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the Bank of America team as a Senior Audit Manager. As a key member of the Corporate Audit team, you will be responsible for leading audits of Lines of Business (LOBs) across the organization, ensuring that our business operations are aligned with our risk management framework and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit LOBs ranging in scale and scope, and produce high-quality audit reports that summarize results of an audit to management.
  • Develop audit plans, assess risks, and provide appropriate coverage for current and emerging risks.
  • Lead the design and promotion of innovative tools and technological elements to drive continuous coverage of company risks.
  • Maintain business partner relationships for areas assigned and challenge business management to adopt appropriate policies, procedures, and effective controls designed to mitigate risks.
  • Manage team performance by training, mentoring, and defining development plans for team members.
  • Responsible for audit coverage of areas and activities covering climate and environmental risks applicable across the enterprise.
  • Develop audit strategy for the sound application of risk-based auditing by defining audit scope and audit programs and leveraging automation and innovative methods in a timely and high-quality manner.
  • Exercise sound knowledge of product, business, and technical expertise to effectively challenge management to improve the control environment.
  • Assess impacts to business processes, controls, and strategies to provide recommendations on severity ratings.
  • Produce draft audit reports and share audit results with business leaders.
  • Support the development of peers and teams through on-the-job training and foster an inclusive work environment.
  • Establish business partner relationships, primarily with line management, to develop business knowledge.
  • Use innovative tools to complete audit activities more efficiently (e.g., testing).
  • Ensure Audit testing is robust and adheres to BAC Audit methodology and IIA standards.
  • Manage, monitor, and perform Audit Issue validation while balancing Audit assignments.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory developments, emerging risks, and report/instruction changes; contribute to calibration of the plan.

Requirements:

  • Greater than 10 years' experience in a related role.
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience. CPA, CIA, CISA or similar.
  • Specific subject matter expertise in audit and the financial services industry.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn complex subject matter, understand regulatory requirements, and build testing programs to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Proven track record of executing multiple projects concurrently and delivering high-quality work to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and mentor junior team members and influence their careers.
  • Ability to build a strong rapport with line of business management and provide impact without impairing independence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communicator, both orally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Financial Statement Auditing and Consulting experience.
  • Experience in evaluating workflows/systems/data mining.
  • Experience with climate and environment risk areas.
