Role Overview

The organization seeks to leverage its impressive processing legacy to develop a comprehensive sales strategy that will drive growth and enhance market presence.

The Head of Sales will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the Board of Directors to create and implement a strategic sales plan that supports the overall objectives of the company. This role is crucial for building and maintaining relationships across retail, B2B, and food service sectors.

The ideal candidate will have established connections within the grocery retail market, particularly in the frozen seafood category, and will demonstrate a proven history of developing and executing successful sales strategies on a national scale.

Success in this position requires a proactive, innovative mindset, with the ability to identify new revenue opportunities while balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in retail, B2B, and food service sectors.
  • Negotiate contracts and secure partnerships, consistently striving to achieve or surpass sales targets.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Board to develop a comprehensive sales strategy.
  • Establish key performance indicators, set ambitious growth targets, and provide regular updates to leadership.
  • Build strong partnerships with procurement teams to forecast demand and streamline order fulfillment.
  • Work alongside creative teams to develop effective marketing materials.
  • Coordinate with operations to understand production capabilities and align sales efforts.
  • Travel as necessary to engage with clients and strengthen partnerships.
  • Achieve financial objectives with a focus on sustainable profitability and cost management.
  • Maintain a client-focused approach, managing expectations and collaborating across departments to resolve issues.
Qualifications
  • At least 10 years of experience in progressive sales roles.
  • A minimum of 5 years in seafood sales.
  • Experience managing annual sales of at least $20 million.
  • Proven success in selling to major grocery retailers.
  • Strong skills in sales and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
